Why Westies?
"They are good people-dogs," Cookie says. "Westies are very attuned to people. They make excellent companions."
Hero's breeds for health and temperament first, Cookie says. "I don't want a bad-tempered dog in the line. I want outgoing, happy puppies."
There is usually a waiting list for puppies, which are available two or three times a year. Occasionally older dogs are available for adoption as pets when they are done breeding or showing.
